Research Project:
There has been a long-standing association between circadian rhythm disruption and neuropsychiatric disorders such as autism, however the molecular underpinnings remain unknown. To elucidate the underlying pathways, we will perform transcriptomic analysis upon large postmortem human brain datasets, mouse models of autism and sophisticated in vitro models of circadian rhythmicity in the brain. These analyses will help identify circadian transcriptional signatures involved in key neurological processes which when disrupted contribute to both circadian disruption and neuropsychiatric disease.
